Water’s Edge On The Line

Painted desert sands
colored with mustache twirling
high cackling greed
monologuing anti-heroes

it’s the American dream

public promises
empty promises
ken faith
and sacrificial

ruined ruins
make revolutionary promises
dozing bulldozers
greet ancestors
pipes made out of smoke
restless soul syndrome

risk honor
which fuels
golden corporate cages
pride for sale
if anyone’s buying?
