Venmo

There was a year of my life that was dedicated to being the most annoying person in Silicon Valley. I worked as a technical recruiter, calling through companies like Yahoo! and eBay, saying whatever I could to get a software engineer on the line and convince them to consider leaving their job to work for my client.

My clients were fast-growing startups looking for superstar programmers during the rise of the “Dot-com Bubble.” The value of a qualified engineer was worth millions, even billions, to the right startup with the right product. It was like being a stockbroker for people.

Software engineers are very, very busy people. They are making six figures working 16-hour days to code products – and nine times out of 10, when their phone rings, it’s someone like me on the line. I literally had five seconds to get their attention and differentiate myself from all the other recruiters. If that happened and I actually got their resume, it needed to be in line with my client’s requirements. Then began the delicate dance of coaching both through the interview, offer negotiations and hiring process. You can imagine how stressful that was. I can’t believe I was able to do it for a year.

Back then, the hottest platforms were mobile apps. Today, it’s money. Alternate currencies like Steem Coin kaufen and BitCoin which you buy and spend online. And now there alternate payment methods like Apple Pay, Google pay, Steam Wallet and One Touch are gaining consumers’ trust as an acceptable way to make VeriSign Secured payments. Physical cash is quickly becoming a thing of the past. In fact, BitCoin is especially on the rise and if you want to see some Bitcoin Statistics click here! Hey, if it’s protected by the FDIC, it’s as good as mailing a check or writing an IOU.

If you’re going to be investing in Bitcoin then you need to make sure you know about the cryptocurrency industry. Can you make westpac Bitcoin investments with your bank account? What is Bitcoin projected to be worth in the future? What other coins are there? When you don’t know much about the different currencies on the market, such as bitcoin, you need to make sure that all your payments are protected because if they’re not, your money could be going to the wrong place. Bitcoin is becoming increasingly popular amongst consumers, either by using it as a payment method, or by creating their own cryptocurrency via a piece of equipment like the bitmain antminer s9 buy (look at the options here). Though money has always been at the centre of people’s lives, it has never been more important than today, so make sure it’s protected by the FDIC before processing payments.

Snapchat launched Snapcash in partnership with Square last November. But the launch was the same month hundreds of thousands of Snapchat’s private user photos were leaked, scaring the crap out of Millennials. However, there is a product that’s been beta testing for two years that has seemed to gain the trust of millions called Venmo.

Venmo is dubbed “the little social payment app.” Little because users are limited to sending no more than $2,000 per week, and social because it has a stream of all your friends’ payments. I had my doubts when downloading and looking through the service. It can’t be completely free. And who wants to let all their friends know who they are paying, and when?

It’s not completely free. Credit card payments are subject to a 2.9 percent fee, but direct bank accounts are free. It’s not completely social either, as that option can be turned off before sending money.

This is a great way to split dinner, organize office parties or chip in for bottle service. Payments made are deposited to your bank account the next day.

Keeping up with the fast-moving companies in the tech world, I sometimes miss being more involved in the action. Saying I was directly responsible for some of the magic happening, especially for some clients that went public, is kind of huge. Sometimes, the more stressful and diffi-cult work is worth the amazing payout, but sometimes my own sanity is worth more.
