‘Horrible Bosses 2’ Trailer Review By Metro Crew

Metro-112614-ReelTalk-TrailerReview-Horrible

It has been three years since disgruntled workers Nick (Jason Bateman), Dale (Charlie Day) and Kurt (Jason Sudeikis) continually botched plans to murder their higher-ups in Horrible Bosses. In Horrible Bosses 2, they’re trying to strike out on their own legally — by inventing something called the Shower Buddy. But when an investor attempts to screw them over, they’re back to poorly planned mischief. With a supporting cast that includes Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Aniston, Jamie Foxx, Chris Pine and Christoph Waltz, it’s certainly star-studded. But is that enough to make it funny? We’re not sure. Horrible Bosses 2 opens in wide release Nov. 26. >>

NICOLE: I am excited for it. I just like the people in the movie, that’s why.

PAIGE: They do have a lot of big-name celebrities in this movie.

NICOLE: But usually when that happens, it bombs … But I like Jason Bateman.

CHRISTINA: What else has he been in besides Arrested Development?

JAIMIE: A string of B-list movies. I don’t think he has been in anything as good as Arrested Development.

CHRISTINA: I really like Charlie (Day) from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia though.

NICOLE: He’s adorable!

JAIMIE: He is adorable, but when he nonstop screams, I want to punch him in the face. If he just speaks in short verses, then it’s fine. Beyond that, it is maddening. Christoph Waltz makes really weird movie decisions sometimes. Because if he’s in a really good movie, then he’s won two Oscars for it. But then he was in The Green Hornet.

NICOLE: Wasn’t he in Django Unchained?

JAIMIE: Yeah, he was and he won an Oscar.

PAIGE: He is going to be the next James Bond villain, I heard.

NICOLE: I am over the James Bond series.

PAIGE: (gasp)

CHRISTINA: I have never seen a James Bond movie.

PAIGE: (louder gasp) I have seen Skyfall seven times.

JAIMIE: I don’t know how I feel about Kevin Spacey being in this movie. He was in the first one, wasn’t he?

NICOLE: He ended up in jail in the first one.

CHRISTINA: I saw the first one in theaters, but I have pretty much no recollection of it. So I found this trailer kind of confusing. It seemed like it was just stringing together a bunch of random things that are supposed to be funny.

PAIGE: It doesn’t look like it’s about bosses anymore. It’s just the same characters doing something else.

JAIMIE: I wonder what goes through these actors’ minds. Kevin Spacey probably has enough money. I am sure Christoph Waltz does, too. They’re both Oscar winners. They’re both really good when they do good films, but then they do something like this.

NICOLE: Maybe they’re just messing around.

JAIMIE: I choose to believe that Kevin Spacey is just really serious all the time.

NICOLE: I like Kevin Spacey even though he seems a little crazy here. Like when he screams into the phone.

JAIMIE: I’ve only liked Kevin Spacey when he is being really scary. Like in Se7en.

CHRISTINA: Isn’t that most of his roles?

PAIGE: Meanwhile, Jennifer Aniston struggles to remain relevant.

CHRISTINA: I feel bad for her. I don’t think she’s ever had a successful movie.

JAIMIE: She doesn’t really need to though because by the time Friends ended, they were being paid so much.

PAIGE: I’m sure she feels bad about her movies while she’s swimming in her millions of dollars.
