Everyone has heard that bold generalization that women are not funny — or at least not as funny as their male counterparts. To say that, I think, is to acknowledge simply that there are more famous male comedians — while ignoring the barriers within the entertainment industry that have created such a gender imbalance.

But, at any rate, this week, we chatted with a few local lady comedians who are a part of Female Comics of Hawaii. They strive to promote women comics and comedy in general. Read the story and see what events they have coming up. (Plus, they shared some jokes with us.)
