If you haven’t yet been to La Cucina, you are missing out on what just might be one of the best Italian restaurants on the island. Case in point: the Ravioli Neri. It’s black ravioli filled with lobster — with extra chunks of lobster swimming within a basil saffron cream sauce. The sauce is light and perfectly complements the pasta without overpowering its flavors. Order a salad or an appetizer — you can’t go wrong with the Insalata di Casa — and you have the perfect meal.

Some people can look at a menu and not feel compelled to order things labeled with Dr. Seuss puns, but those people do not work at Metro. So here we have a ham and goat cheese omelet, with its greenish hue thanks to a very liberal sprinkle of basil. At least, we think it was basil? Whatever it was, it was nearly overpowering. It comes with roasted potatoes and toast, which may have been one starch too many. It was fine … but we’ll probably just stick to the cupcakes from the nearby kiosk, if you don’t mind.
