OK, we’re pretty sure we have told you about this dish before, but perfection deserves repeated recognition. Goma Tei’s Tan Tan Ramen is stocked with bok choy, a hearty helping of char siu and thin, cooked-just-right noodles (in a way that they’re still a little bit chewy), all swimming in their signature broth. Goma Tei frequently is touted as being one of the best ramen joints on the island, and a bowl of this is sure to make you a believer. In addition to this one at Ward, there also are other Goma Tei restaurants at Ala Moana Center and Pearlridge Center. Protip: We’ve found that Goma Tei’s broth can be a bit of an acquired taste. If you don’t like it the first time around, go back a second or third time. Pretty soon, you’ll be craving it every week.

Biting into anything at Tucker & Bevvy in the morning is a little like crawling back under the covers — seriously, it’s that good. Really, you can’t go wrong with this menu of Aussie-inspired eats. There are sweets like a Tim Tam Waffle that pairs Australia’s favorite cookies, topped with ice cream and maple syrup. But if you’re in the mood for something hearty that won’t literally send you back to bed, go for its Mushroom Rosti — balsamic mushrooms and spinach atop a crisp potato cake and finished with two eggs over easy. It’s a combination of textures and flavors that altogether makes for one excellent breakfast.
