Pineapple Upside-down cake
Dave Loando, bartender and co-owner
HANK’S CAFE HONOLULU
“Pineapple Upside-down Cake has cherries on it, too, so when you drink it, at the end, you get that cherry flavor (from the drop of grenadine).
“It’s better as a shot because you get that little blast of flavor. It’s like taking a bite out of the cake.
“Hank (the owner) tells me that it’s world famous because people in Australia, Japan, England and Ireland have tasted it and talk about it. I actually have people come in and ask me, ‘Hey, are you Dave? We want to try your Pineapple Upside-down Cake!'”
