‘Picasso Prints’ Tour

Metro-123114-picasso

Picasso fans have a chance to get a more in-depth look at Honolulu Museum of Art’s Picasso Prints exhibit with the Tour + Talk Story: Picasso Prints session at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 4. This is one of the museum’s many docent-led tours that encourage viewers to discuss exhibits and think about the pieces in new ways.

This is your last chance to catch the Picasso Prints tour, as Jan. 4 also is the final day of the exhibit.

Pablo Picasso was one of the most prolific artists of the 20th century. An artist for several decades, Picasso created a breadth of work, including paintings, drawings, sculptures, ceramics and collages.

But while everybody is at least somewhat familiar with Picasso’s immediately recognizable paintings, his prints are not often showcased. This exhibit spans the length of his career, featuring pieces from all of his artistic phases, including the Blue and Rose periods, as well as his abstract era.

Docents Bill and Karlyn Pearl will lead the tour and discussion. Participants should meet at the entrance to the museum. The tour is free with admission to the museum.
