Chef Chai has a way with seafood — so you should, 100 percent, try his salmon. It reminded us of butterfish, not in flavor but in its rich, buttery texture, each flake of fish just melting away in your mouth. Accompanied by vegetables and grilled pineapple, it’s a pretty balanced meal. We recommend getting the coconut milk ginger brown rice; it’s mild in flavor but addictive. For dessert, you have to get the honey cream pineapple. We talked about this last month in Gastronome (read it at metrohnl.com if you missed it). Just. Do. It.

This hidden treasure inside of Keeaumoku Supermarket is special enough to warrant a Metro staff post-dinner field trip. Mixed together, everything works in harmony: the tart fruit, the sweet ice, the texture of beans and kinako. Sharing is required. Trust us. Consider it our new favorite place to eat dessert. And then, since you’re already in the Korean market, you might as well go pick up some for-later snacks …
