Two new fitness studios are on their way to Kakaako: Orangetheory Fitness, which provides an intense, calorie-burning workout, and Atmasphere, which offers yoga and meditation. Both currently are finalizing permitting and are due to open in late summer at 660 Ala Moana Blvd.

Both are owned by 24-year-old Atlanta-based entrepreneur Pavel Stuchlik, who operates investment company Tomorrow’s Vision, LLC.

“Orangetheory, to me, is the best one-hour workout that you can have — for weight loss, for toning, just keeping healthy and in shape,” says Stuchlik.

Orangetheory, which is a larger franchise that Stuchlik has invested in, has nine other locations coming to Oahu, from Kapolei to Kailua, over the next few years. The workout features intervals of cardiovascular and strength training utilizing equipment including treadmills and rowing machines.

Atmasphere, meanwhile, offers classes that include spinning, sculpting and various styles of yoga.

“Basically, what you see at Atmasphere is focused on body, mind and soul,” Stuchlik says. “Our goal is to create a lifestyle concept.”

Prior to founding Tomorrow’s Vision, Stuchlik had been a professional cyclist, starting at the age of 17. To fund his way through the sport, he started a website focusing on health and personal development. Things grew quickly — and soon, Stuchlik was involved in a myriad of investments.

When asked why he wanted to make that transition from cycling to doing business full time, he chuckles.

“i didn’t want to,” he explains. “it was a factor of different things — one was my health.”

A couple years ago, he collapsed from exhaustion during a race.

“i woke up in the hospital, and that was one of my signs that i don’t think i can handle both business and sports,” he says. “i had to choose.”

Stuchlik says that he ultimately chose business because he wanted to have a positive impact on the lives of others. To that end, Tomorrow’s Vision also works with a range of projects that involve health, sustainability and education, in addition to fitness.

in creating Atmasphere, Stuchlik says social responsibility was his top priority. The forthcoming Kakaako location will donate 1 percent of its gross revenue to support those in need in the community.

“Our 1 percent (will go) to people who have no place to stay, no food to eat and no clothes to wear,” he explains. “We believe that those are the three major essentials to a human being, that everyone deserves no matter who they are or where they are in life.”
