RODIN THROUGH YOGA

Even if the name Auguste Rodin doesn’t immediately ring a bell, you’ve definitely seen his art; he’s the sculptor who’s responsible for the iconic The Thinker, among other works that study the human form. So it seems only natural, then, that his work be combined with yoga — which is exactly what Honolulu Museum of Art has done with its Rodin Through Yoga series.

Heidi Hopkins of Aloha Yoga Kula guides yoga classes at the museum that include a viewing and discussion of pieces in the Auguste Rodin: The Human Experience exhibit, which is on display now. Next up is a Limber Legs session at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 15. You’ll need a mat, block, straps and a blanket.

HOLIDAZE CHINATOWN MARKET

Art + Flea has teamed up with the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development to offer this holiday market from noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 19 at the corner of Nuuanu and Pauahi Streets, featuring fashion, art, live entertainment, food and more.

“We want to help drive a thriving shopping experience in Chinatown that involves the existing Chinatown merchants,” stated Art + Flea founder Aly Ishikuni in a press release. “Help our economy stay vibrant by allowing people to shop with Hawaii’s local small businesses in a historic and important part of our city’s landscape.”
