THROUGH OUR EYES

Nine Colombian student artists will make their U.S. debut, discussing lost homelands, histories of violence, complex gender norms and more in Through Our Eyes.

Sponsored by nonprofit Mobility Movilidad in collaboration with Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Bank of Hawaii and other U.S. colleges, the biennial and bilingual project sees the Colombian artists tour the country with their work, sharing stories and finding connections between Colombia and the U.S.

This is the first time the exhibit has been hosted in Hawaii, and it will be open at Punahou School’s Kirsch Gallery until Friday (March 20).

ON OAHU: TWO VIEWS

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so it makes sense that two photographers can capture two completely

different perspectives of Oahu — a dichotomy on display at UH-Manoa’s Art Gallery with On Oahu: Two Views.

Artist-photographers Phil Jung and Joseph Maida display their work until April 10. Jung also hosts an April 7 lecture, “Phil Jung: Recent Work on Oahu,” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the campus’ Art Auditorium.
