4 ALCOHOL APPS EVERYONE NEEDS

This week, I went on a search for apps to help fuel my love for alcohol. It turns out there are hundreds of apps created specifically for this purpose. Here are my top picks, based on price and applicability to drinking.

iBartender Drink & Cocktail Recipes (99 cents)

iBartender can help anyone become a master mixologist, and it has close to five stars to prove it. The app has hundreds of recipes, ranging from standby favorites to unsung treats.

Metro-121714-Barkeep-BeerPongBeer Pong (Free)

Want to play beer pong at the party you’re at, but you’re stuck at the bottom of the wait list? Look no further than this free beer pong app. You can challenge your friends if they also have the app, or play against the computer in a range of difficulties. Unfortunately, precision in this app may not translate to the game in real life.

Metro-121714-Barkeep-AmIDrunkAm I Drunk Test! (Free; pro version, 99 cents)

Challenge your sobriety by taking a spin at the Am I Drunk Test. The app is free, but the pro version is only 99 cents and contains 45 levels. The game is basic when played sans alcohol, but the more you drink, the harder it becomes to steady your phone. The gist of the game is to reach a target by moving a ball, i.e., tilting your phone, accordingly. This test is great when you’re trying to gauge whether you should order that next drink.

Metro-121714-Barkeep-CounterMy Beautiful Beer Counter (Free)

If you’re having a night out using these apps, this one might come in handy. It allows you to keep track of how many you’ve had. After completing a drink, add it to your counter. The app also gives statistics on the amount of liters you’ve had and compares it to the rest of the world. If you feel ashamed of how many beers you’ve had, you can subtract numbers! Just don’t tell anybody.
